Abstract

The purposes of this research were 1) to study the potential to cultural tourism of Yasothon Province 2) to study the identity to cultural tourism of Yasothon Province. The research used a qualitative method by selecting to interview principle 26 samplings. They were personals in government and private sectors, scholars, general people in the province and personals form non profit organizations. The data method was Triangulation and content analysis. The research results revealed that the Potential Promotion and the Development of cultural tourism based on the identity in Yasothon Province. They were things that should be promoted and developed to serve tourists. 1) Transportation system was regarded important for tourist travels to attractions in Yasothon Province. 2) There were too few public tourist attractions including traditions, local food, performing arts and local music in Yasothon Province for tourists to see. If there were more thase public attractions more people would travel to Yasothon Province. It was expected that the promotion and the development of the two items mentioned above the tourism cultural management of Yasothon Province would be more popular in the future. As for the cultural identity of Yasothon Province it was found that Yasothon had 5 aspects prominent for cultural attractions: traditions and festivals, products and handicrafts from local wisdom, local food, preforming arts and local music which could be attractions in managing cultural tourism in Yasothon Province.
