Abstract

The purposes of this research are: 1) to study total quality management in schools based on the opinions of administrators and teachers, and 2) to compare the opinions of administrators and teachers about total quality management in schools under the secondary education service office area 8. 454 samples including 113 school administrators and 341 teachers are selected by stratified random sampling based on sample size table of Krejicie & morgan. The instrument is a 5-rating scale questionnaire approved by expert with reliability or trial at .92. The statistics used for data analysis include percentage, mean, standard deviation and t – test. independent sample. The research results are as follows: 1. The overall level of total quality management in schools based on the opinions of administrators and teachers is in high level. In terms of item analysis, the aspect with highest mean scores include the attention on customer care followed by teamwork, human resource, systematic administration, data collection and the application of scientific methods for problem analysis and investigation including continual job improvement, respectively. 2. The result of comparing the opinions of administrators and teachers about total quality management in schools in terms of the overall and item analysis discloses statistically significant different at .01.
