The Core Competency of School Administrators affecting Academic Administration Executives towards ASEAN Community: Secondary Educational Service Area Office 9 (Nakhon Pathom Province)

The research studied: 1) the core competencies of school administrators; 2) academic administration of school administrators; and 3) core competencies affecting academic administration executives towards ASEAN community operating under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 9 of Nakhon Pathom Province. The research used stratified random sampling method and the samples comprised of 313 school administrators and teachers working in secondary schools under Nakhon Pathom Secondary Educational Service Area Office 9. Data collection used 5 rating-scales questionnaire at .97 reliability. The content accuracy was between 0.67 and 1.00 and the statistics used were percentages, means standard deviation and Multiple Regression Analysis. The findings shown: 1) The performance of school administrators under the jurisdiction of the Office of Educational Service Area 9 (Nakhon Pathom Province) was high and the average can be sorted from most to least in the following order: ‘self-development’, ‘good service’, ‘teamwork and achievement’. 2) The effectiveness of the schools under the jurisdiction of the Office of Educational Service Area 9 (Nakhon Pathom Province) was high and the average can be sorted from most to least in the following order: ‘quality assurance system development in education institution’, ‘education guidance’, ‘supervision’, ‘learning resource development’, ‘cooperation in academic development’, ‘curriculum development’, ‘learning processes development’, and ‘promotion and support of academic work for individuals, families, organizations, and other agencies’. 3) The core competencies affecting academic administration executives towards ASEAN community operating under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 9 of Nakhon Pathom Province was analysed at a significance level of .05. The variance of organizational effectiveness was at 58.30 percent. The Variable which can predict institutions’ effectiveness were: ‘personal development’, ‘self-development’, ‘good service’, and ‘teamwork and achievement’. The equation for predicting the effectiveness of the schools can be written as follow: (ytot) = 1.262 + 0.237 (X2) + 0.253 (X4) – 0.217 (X3)
