Abstract

This research aimed to study: 1) factors affecting literacy; 2) the relationship of such factors; and 3) the beta weights of the factors affecting literacy of Prathomsuksa 3 students under Ratchaburi Primary Educational Service area Office 1. Samples used in this study were 400 students in Prathomsuksa 3 of 2017 academic year. They were recruited from 14 schools under Ratchaburi Primary Educational Service area Office 1, and were selected via multi–stage random sampling technique. The tools used in the study were questionnaires with 5-scale rating. The reliability of the questionnaires were at .94, and the statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation, correlation coefficient the Pearson and Multiple Regression Analysis using Enter selection method. The research findings revealed that: 1) the overall level of factors affecting literacy of Prathomsuksa 3 students under Ratchaburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 is at the highest level and were ranked from high to low as teachers (X3), management (X4), and students (X1), respectively; 2) factor affecting literacy with statistical significance at .01 includes factor concerning family (X2); and 3) the equation for predicting factors affecting literacy of Prathomsuksa 3 students under Ratchaburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 of raw scores and standard scores can be demonstrated as:
