Abstract

The purpose of this research was to study the adherence to human rights principles and the quality of life of elderly inmates in Nakhon Pathom Central Prison, and to study the influence of being treated according to human rights principles on the quality of life of elderly inmates in Nakhon Pathom Central Prison. Using quantitative research methodology, the sample group used in this research was 120 elderly inmates in the Nakhon Pathom Central Prison. The research tool was a questionnaire. Statistics used in data analysis were percentage, frequency, mean and standard deviation, and multiple or multiple regression analysis. The results showed that the samples had a moderate level of human rights treatment ( X ̅ = 2.77, S.D. = 1.008) and a moderate level of quality of ( X ̅ = 2.77, S.D. = 0.981). The influence of being treated according to human rights principles on the quality of life of elderly inmates, it was found that compliance with human rights principles consists of the right to receive visits, contacts with relatives and outsiders, right to receive medical treatment, right to a new trial, right to be treated humanely and right not to be punished repeatedly for one offence. was able to explain statistically significant variations in the quality of life of the elderly inmates. representing 82.7 percent by the right to receive visits Contact with relatives and outsiders had the greatest influence on the quality of life of the elderly inmates (b=0.241), followed by the right to receive medical treatment (b=0.210) and the right to receive inclusive treatment. humanitarian (b=0.162), respectively.
