Public participation in solid waste Bang Mueang Mai Subdistrict Samut Prakan Province

Abstract

Executive summary The study on the people participation in the garbage elimination of Tambon Bangmuang Mai, Amphoe Muang, Samutprakarn. The objectives of the study are – (1)  To study of how the people participation in the garbage elimination - To compare the people participation in the garbage elimination by each personal factors. – (2)  To study the effect of people conscience on the participation in the garbage elimination of Tambon Bangmuang Mai, Amphoe Muang, Samutprakarn. -  (3) To compare the people participation in the garbage elimination of Tambon Bangmuang Mai, Amphoe Muang, Samutprakarn, by sex, age, education, occupation, and monthly income. The representative sample of this study is a group of 303 local people living in Tambon Bangmuang Mai, Amphoe Muang, Samutprakarn. The analytical statistics method are frequency and percentage. The average and standard deviation hypothesis test using t-test and one-way ANOVA. Any differentiation will be tested each pair using LSD (least significant different test) The result of the study shows that the people participation in the garbage elimination of Tambon Bangmuang Mai, Amphoe Muang, Samutprakarn is now at the highest level. The detail shows the people in Tambon Bangmuang Mai, Amphoe Muang, Samutprakarn are involved in the garbage elimination and considering the sharing benefits, the most important. The second  is the involvement in the decision making. The third is the participation in the operating process. The least important is the participation in the project assessment. The hypothesis test shows  the participation in the garbage elimination has no differentiation in term of sex. However, the differences in age, education, occupation, and monthly income represent the significant differentiation at the level of 05. The analytical hypothesis is accepted.
